Clear your calendar–It's going down! Be a Boss Panel kicks off on June 14th, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Sky Gallery is our meeting spot for a day of fun and excitement. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose. You don't want to miss this! 

 

The two part panel event will kick off at 12pm and wrap up at 5pm. First up, we will have the pleasure of hearing from some of the finest ladies in food, moderated by Chef & Author, Mina Stone. Up next, we'll hear from some of the frontrunners in fashion and retail, lead by StyleCaster Creators Director, Samantha Lim. 

 

But hold up, that's not all. CAROLINE VENTURa

Caroline Ventura is a designer, metalsmith, and entrepreneur. She began her creative career in Los Angeles, founding a boutique production company – creating fashion, editorial, and commercial campaigns for some of the world’s largest brands. After moving to New York she began training as a goldsmith and launched the women’s fine jewelry line BRVTVS in 2010. In addition to running her jewelry business, Caroline owns and operates an interiors store with her husband Michael, in New York’s West Village. The shop, Calliope, features new and vintage pieces that they source from partners around the globe.

marissa Lippert

Nationally recognized food writer, registered dietician and entrepreneur, Marissa Lippert is the founder of Nourish Kitchen + Table, a café and takeaway food shop nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s West Village, featuring locally sourced, seasonally-inspired fare that offers the comfort of a kitchen away from home.

Hannah Dilworth

Hannah Dilworth, the owner and buyer for Concrete + Water, has worked in fashion for nearly half her life, starting out as a Ford model as a teenager, and transitioning to her role as a stylist in her 20s after graduating from LIM College. Before opening Concrete +Water, Hannah worked at Lucky Magazine and Shopbop as the assistant stylist under style and fashion director, Elle Strauss. Hannah opened Concrete + Water in the fall of 2014 with her fiancee and partner JD Gluckstern. Hannah's personal style has been profiled by several websites including Garance Dore, The Sartorialist, Backyard Bill, and Refinery29. Hannah believes in a classic, playful, and feminine aesthetic, and that is seen clearly in both her personal style as well as the look and feel of
Concrete + Water.

natasha david

Natasha David was born in Germany to musician parents with a hectic, globe -­‐ trotting itinerary. At 18 , David moved to New York City to attend New York University. While a freshmen, she got her first restaurant job—bartending in an East Village Irish Pub. By her senior year at NYU, David was the assistant general manager at the Corner Shop Café. During this time she was offered an opening bartending position at Woodson & Ford. The cocktail bug took form. From there David has worked behind countless bars including Danny Meyer’ Maialino, Keith McNally’s Pulinos, Maison Premiere, Mayahuel, Donna and Death and Co. She opened Nitecap in 2014 with partners David Kaplan and Alex Day. Her cocktails have been featured in many publications and online journals such as the New York Times, Wine & Spirits Magazine, Nylon, Time Out New York, Punch, Tasting Table, GQ. Details and Travel & Leisure. Natasha was awarded Zagat’s 2014: 30 Under 30, Eaters 2014 New York and National Bartender of the Year and most recently was named a 2015 Star Chefs Rising Star. In addition to bartending David runs consulting company You and Me Cocktails with her partner Jeremy Oertel. Some of their projects include the Soho Grand Hotel, Tribeca Grand Hotel, Paul’s Baby Grand, Dear Bushwick and Pravda.

samantha lim

Samantha Lim is the Director of StyleCaster Creators, the fashion and lifestyle site's creative department that develops digital first artists and original, fun, share-worthy content.  Her career began in luxury private equity, where a bad habit of blogging industry secrets led to her becoming the editor-in-chief of the now NYLON owned FashionIndie.com.  After 3 years running their team, she spent time consulting with fashion tech startups, producing photoshoots and videos for a number of style publications, and landed at Stylecaster where she thrived in making their dreamy visions come to life. She's also a designer shoe addict, Periscope newbie, and a Netflix binge watcher.

Executive Chef at Graydon Carter’s celebrated West Village restaurant, Beatrice Inn. A native of Seattle, Angie’s menu draws heavily from the rustic farmers markets of her childhood, with a focus on simplicity and seasonality. Meats accented by complimentary combinations of hearty fruits and herbs anchor her menu at Beatrice Inn. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Angie is classically trained but the heart of her experience came from working under some of the city’s finest chefs including April Bloomfield (Spotted Pig) & Sam Talbot (Imperial No.9), and in the kitchens at lauded Williamsburg hotspots including Reynard, Marlow & Sons, & Diner.

Kai Avent-DeLeon

Bed Stuy native, Kai Avent-deLeon, is the owner and creative force behind Sincerely, Tommy. Her vision behind Sincerely, Tommy is an embodiment of the creative energy and spirit of the neighborhood combined with her interest in fashion world. With her extensive retail background and experience as an operations manager at Chanel, she brings an astute knowledge of the retail industry. Through her travels abroad she has gained an eye for the aesthetic displayed in Sincerely,Tommy as well and an ability to feature different designers and artists. The store remains a platform for emerging brands from around the world and her mission is to spotlight these up an coming artists.

Mina Stone

Mina Stone is a chef living in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2006, she has been cooking the opening dinners at Gavin Brown’s enterprise as well as cooking at the studio of Urs Fischer. Other cooking projects have included the Geffen MOCA, Gagosian and Elizabeth Peyton. She has been featured in publications such as the New York Times, W Magazine, Style.com and ANEW.  She published her first cookbook, Cooking For Artists in 2015.
